Job Description / Summary

PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Billing Manager Assistant is a non-licensed worker who has completed an on-the-job training program.  The primary function of the Billing Manager Assistant is to help facilitate efficient operations of the Central Billing Office, ensuring that CBO is following Encore’s policies and procedures. Also, assist the Director of Reimbursement and CBO Manager(s) with supervision of general office operations and personnel within their department.

RESPONSIBLE FOR WORK PERFORMED

Assist CBO Billing Manager in creation of CBO training project; maintain training documents; and be responsible for training of new employees within multiple software programs and insurance portals.

Creation and review of Accounts Receivable workbook for each team member monthly.

Observation of team members for each financial class; with report of indifferences and/or errors within the billing process.

Process the rejected claims within Waystar for the resubmission of claim for prompt payment daily.

Entering approved refund accounts accurately and efficiently into the refund spreadsheet for Encore Corporate processing.  Maintain all data for refund spreadsheet; dates & check #’s, note patient account.  Research all returned refund checks.

Assist CBO Billing Manager with processing of chart audits.  This would include pulling notes, scanning documentation into billing software, as well as uploading documentation into multiple insurance portals.

Other duties as assigned by the CBO Billing Manager and Director of Reimbursement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:      Must have completed the twelfth-grade level of education.  Medical billing experience and business degree desired.

SUPERVISION

Works under the direct Supervision of the CBO Billing Manager and Director of Reimbursement.
